Gopher said if the remains are definitively linked to modern human's ancestors, it could mean that modern man in fact originated in what is now Israel.

Weather in Jerusalem

I added the "yowindow" which shows today's as well as the next weeks weather.
Interesting to note how nice the weather seems most all of the time.
Nice to know as this will be our new home in the future!!

And he (an angel) showed me (the apostle John) a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. Rev 22.1

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. Ps 46.4

The Orchard of God

All along the river's verdant banks you see lofty, fruit-bearing trees...

* Trees of Life -- a vast Orchard of Life -- lift their leafy arms, all along the unending flow of Life's River.
* Everything around you teems and throbs with Life. Everlasting Life! Joyous, Eternal Life!

...on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Rev 22.2

100,000 Jews were killed

As the perennial scapegoat, the Jews were also blamed by many for the Bolshevik coup d'etat of October 1917; approximately 100,000 Jews were killed in the anti-Bolshevik campaigns conducted by Ukrainians, Poles, and Russians.

The Parable of the Fig Tree

Jesus was asked by His Disciples about the signs that would precede His Second Coming at the end of the church age.
One of the last prophetic signs was the sign of the fig tree.
Five times in the OT the tree was used as a symbol of Israel.
Judges 9 10 to 14 0 “Next, the trees said to the fig tree, ‘Come and be our king.’
1 kings 4 25
Jeremiah 24 1 4 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 5 “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Like these good figs, I regard as good the exiles from Judah, whom I sent away from this place to the land of the Babylonians.[b] 6 My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them. 7 I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.
Hosea 9 10 10 “When I found Israel,
it was like finding grapes in the desert;
when I saw your ancestors,
it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree.
But when they came to Baal Peor,
they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol
and became as vile as the thing they loved.

400 Years between Old and New Testament

It is amazing how God utilizes history to work out his purposes. Though we are living in the days that might be termed "the silence of God," when for almost 2,000 years there has been no inspired voice from God, we must look back -- even as they did during those 400 silent years -- upon the inspired record and realize that God has already said all that needs to be said, through the Old and New Testaments. God's purposes have not ended, for sure. He is working them out as fully now as he did in those days. Just as the world had come to a place of hopelessness then, and the One who would fulfill all their hopes came into their midst, so the world again is facing a time when despair is spreading widely across the earth. Hopelessness is rampant everywhere and in this time God is moving to bring to fulfillment all the prophetic words concerning the coming of his Son again into the world to establish his kingdom. How long? How close? Who knows? But what God has done in history, he will do again as we approach the end of "the silence of God."

666 What does this number mean???

Do not be confused by people telling you they know who the person is with the 666 number.
This is not for the Christians of the Church age.
This will be for the people during the Tribulation period so that they know who this "beast" is and not to worship it.
To worship it would mean be to cast your lot against God.

Esther's Shrine in Iran

Interesting visit to the Shrine of Esther.

Jewish exiles from the Kingdom of Judah who had been living in the Babylonian captivity (6th Century BCE) found themselves under Persian rule after Babylonia was in turn conquered by Cyrus the Great, King of the Persians and Medians and founder of the Persian Empire who according to the Biblical Book of Ezra released them from captivity and allowed those that wished to return to Jerusalem, giving them back the money which Nebuchadnezzar II had carried away from Jerusalem.[2] According to the Book of Esther, Haman, royal vizier to King Ahasuerus planned to kill the Jews, but his plans were foiled by Esther, Ahasuerus's queen. Mordecai, a palace official, cousin and foster parent of Esther, subsequently replaced Haman. The Jews were delivered from being the victims of an evil decree against them and were instead allowed by the King to destroy their enemies, and the day after the battle was designated as a day of feasting and rejoicing.

Researching your ancestry

I see a lot of interest lately in "finding your roots".
the bible warns us against this.
If you go back far enough you can find almost anything you could be looking for.

Mark of the Beast

when I was young I wondered why in Revelations you would be required to have a mark on your person in order to buy or sell in the marketplace.
Now however it makes perfect sense as this would be a microchip like device that would identify you and only you when making transactions!!!

Catholic view

In a press conference at the Vatican, Monsignor Cyril Salim Bustros, a Greek Melkite archbishop from Boston and president of the Church’s Commission for the Message, launched a blistering attack against the very foundation of Jewish belief.

“The Holy Scriptures,” Bustros declared, “cannot be used to justify the return of Jews to Israel and the displacement of the Palestinians, to justify the occupation by Israel of Palestinian lands.”

Not stopping there, he went on to state that “we Christians cannot speak of the ‘promised land’ as an exclusive right for a privileged Jewish people… There is no longer a chosen people.”

And so, in one fell swoop, a senior Church official sought to deny the unique, covenantal relationship between God and the Jews, rejecting the divine promise to restore the people of Israel to their Land. One cannot help but wonder: What Bible is the Vatican reading? Whichever one it is, it must be missing a few pages, as even a cursory glance at the Scriptures makes clear that the Jewish people’s right to the Land of Israel is indisputably ordained.
