Jesus is for us the Passover Lamb -- "the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8)
Interesting that sacrificial sheep would give birth to their lambs in the manger and immediately would be wrapped in swaddling clothes to prevent damage to their legs.
In the same way they describe Jesus's birth....indicating the ultimate sacrifice.
